Friday 20 Sep 2019 20:00

Although he grew up in Ibiza, Howie moved to Manchester, where he first started work many years ago as a music PR and journalist, working for labels such as Jockey Slut, Grand Central and magazines such as Blues & Soul, and black music newspaper, Echoes. After coming in-house as Marketing Manager of Grand Central/Fat City, he was instrumental in the early career of Rae & Christian, as well as their club night Friends and Family. Setting up on his own, and moving to London, he managed Ewan Pearson for 10 years, and oversaw remix and production work for Derrick Carter, Ashley Beedle, Rub n’ Tug, Lindstrom, Prins Thomas, amongst others. He still works with Todd Terje and Optimo. His style crosses the MOBO diaspora: from funk to soul to disco, and from jazz to golden-age hip hop to downtempo and boogie, as well as the odd balearic nugget
